WHAT’S COOKING AT AURORA CATERING?

AURORA WINS BEST IN SHOW

Aurora Catering, along with the rest of the “Vino in Venezia” team, won Best in Show at the International Live Events Association’s (ILEA) Designer Showcase. What a team! Airsun Productions, Catalyst Arts, Pleasanton Event Rentals, Landmark Vineyards, Dizzybird Florals and Event Drape Rentals. We had so much fun working with such a talented group of individuals. The showcase drew in over 170 guests, who were dazzled by colorful and unique setups by 5 different groups consisting of caterers, bar caterers, event planners, light technicians, floral, drapery and rental companies. It truly takes a village to put together a special setup for a special event! Aurora and the rest of the “Vino in Venezia” team took inspiration from the romantic and dazzling city of Venice. See images below. What unique ideas can we help bring to life at your event?

DAWN AND MARTY CHILL IN KENOSHA

After a busy 2023 season, Dawn and Marty decided to relax and visit the Winter Wonderland of Kenosha, Wisconsin (or Marty’s hometown!) for a special birthday celebration for Marty’s dad. Though the weather outside was below zero the entire time, Dawn and Marty were surrounded by the warmth of family! Marty was first taught how to cook by his Grandpa George. Grandpa & Marty made over 200 pierogis for Dawn and Marty’s 10th anniversary vow renewal, back in the day. A true labor of love! They also had a chance to see Grandpa’s sister, Aunt Mary, celebrating her 103rd birthday! They returned to the warmth of California full of love & inspiration from family.

VENUE SHOWCASE

Right before the Bay Area was graced with a warm spring sun, we catered a memorial for a mother of 14. Many family members poured into the hall as the service began. The wind reacted with the tunnel at the Chapel of the Chimes in Piedmont, causing the air to force itself through. A rainstorm rolled by but did not last for long. Catering on a cold day outside presents unique challenges and opportunities, as the chilly weather can significantly impact food choices and guest comfort. Embracing the winter elements can turn an outdoor event into a memorable experience. Flexibility and preparedness are paramount! Ensuring that catering staff are appropriately dressed for the weather and equipped to handle any challenges that may arise is essential for executing a successful outdoor event in cold conditions. Catering on a cold day outside requires careful planning, attention to detail, and a focus on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy despite the winter chill before the transition to spring.
